It's bigger than me

In my art I explore the complexities of human energy dynamics, duality, metaphysics and connectivity beyond human sensory experience, I usually explore this in a figurative abstract way. I am honoured that I can embrace my Synesthesia to transmute energetic impressions of a concept and then transfer and express that in art. The interpretation of my work like all art is subjective, my aim is to emote a feeling only you can recognise, touch on a memory, bring textures to the imagination, provoke reflective thoughts on experiences, desires and navigate your internal world but more over I can only hope that my art moves something in you that leaves an indelible impression.

Back story

I'm a self taught artist, I had a natural proclivity towards art , from the moment I could hold a pencil I've had the natural ability to draw, explore colours with pencils and paints, pastels you name it. I would create or recreate pictures from old story books, cartoon characters, art works of Leonardo Da Vinci, Monet, props from around the house, or just from my imagination.

I had the opportunity take the path of attending art school but to the dismay of my art teacher I choose science my aim at the time was medical school to become a Doctor.

Give it time - the subtle come back

Throughout University art was not something I gave much thought to. During my second year at University the Internet was introduced to the world. The world changed. Several years later I became a Web Developer and have been for 20 years, but art started to make a subtle return to my life.

After being asked, well challenged to do an album cover, it was from that point on I embraced the artist that I am and continue to work on my skills and confidence.

Remembering to play

I like to find new ways to express the artwork it's a process that I've come to play with and surrender to.

I use a mix of mediums, oil paints, acrylic paints, resin, spray paints, oil sticks, gold leaf, textured paste etc.
